2021 Escalade

What's New for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade?

The new model features a new chassis with independent rear suspension, resulting in 40 percent more third-row legroom (34.9 inches) and 68 percent more cargo space (25.5 cubic feet) behind the back row. Passengers in the rear seats are treated to an entertainment system with a pair of 12.6-inch screens. The 2021 Escalade measures 211 inches in length, nearly 7 inches longer than the current model.

The new Escalade model also features a multi-link independent rear suspension that differs from the current model's live-axle setup. This unique suspension system is intended to deliver more comfortable driving. The 2021 Escalade also offers magnetic ride control, four-corner air suspension, and electronic limited-slip differential, which is an optional feature in place of the standard mechanical one.

Which Features are Available for 2021?

The 2021 Escalade comes with embedded microphones in the cabin that are used to pick up the voices of passengers and project them through the vehicle's AKG 36-speaker sound system. The sound system is powered by three different amplifiers and creates sound in 28 channels. It can be adjusted so that volume levels are different in the front and rear of the vehicle, and can also work in conjunction with the navigation system to provide direction-specific audio prompts.

The navigation system uses cameras to display real-time images of streets on the car's screen, with several directional overlays that show the driver where to go. The cameras are located on the front, sides, and back of the Escalade to produce a two-megapixel surround vision of the space outside the vehicle.

To the left of the steering wheel is a 7.2-inch touch screen functioning as a driver information center. There is also a 14.2-inch display behind the wheel for crucial driving information. On the right of the wheel is a large 16.9-inch infotainment screen. All of these screens utilize OLED technology, giving them twice the pixel density of a 4K television.

Great Power and Fuel Economy

The 2021 Escalade comes with two different engine choices. A 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.0-liter I6 turbodiesel capable of 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both engines use 10-speed auto wheel drive and the same rear-wheel-drive powertrain with four-wheel drive capability.

2021 Escalade Safety Features

The Cadillac Escalade includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, night vision, front and rear parking obstruction warning, and lane-keeping assist. It also comes with Super Cruise, which is a partially automated driving system capable of automatically braking and steering on divided highways while the driver does not have their hands on the wheel.

It can also perform a lane change when the driver activates the turn signal. Super Cruise communicates essential safety information to the driver via blue, red, and green lights that change colors depending on the situation. It combines map data, GPS, driver attention monitor, cameras, and radar sensors.
