Aiden Price Steps Into GM's Driver-in-the-Loop Simulator
Before drawing the interest of Matt Borland, Aiden had already built a credible background in motorsports. With wins in micro sprint racing and extensive accomplishments on the iRacing simulation platform, he had earned respect in the virtual racing community. Joining the Formula 1 program was the next major milestone in his development.
Following an evaluation before the Cadillac Formula 1 squad, Aiden officially joined the effort. The team quickly identified his natural proficiency in virtual environments. "I've learned a huge amount from the whole team. Simon and I will do sessions where we overlap our data and find places where I can improve," Aiden stated about his experience with the team.
Greg Price expresses great pride in his son's accomplishments. "I've always worked with him on setting up cars," Greg remarked. "He's very in tune with everything we do on our race cars, and in iRacing, he's had a little side-hustle creating setups and selling them to other drivers online." Their collaborative work serves a vital purpose for Cadillac Formula 1 racing. Driver-in-the-loop simulators recreate intricate vehicle parameters, ensuring that virtual testing directly informs physical chassis construction and updates. Aiden emphasized the synergy across GM's racing divisions: "All these different groups at GM come together and correlate between NASCAR, INDYCAR, LMDh, and F1.
