Specs at a Glance
In 2021, the Cadillac Escalade gets notable updates to be more compelling and appealing overall. Now, one of the largest SUVs on the market gets even bigger, with more interior space. The 2021 Cadillac Escalade seats eight people, but you can choose seating for seven with the Escalade Sport instead, which is the top trim level. The Cadillac Escalade gets some updates in 2021 that include more standard amenities in all trim levels. In all trims, you will now find the latest in driver-assist safety aids, including Cadillac's signature Super Cruise technology that offers a semi-automated driving system. The Escalade can now be powered by a diesel engine along with a gasoline engine for extra power. The diesel engine is a class-exclusive for the Cadillac Escalade.
Performance
You have a choice of power and performance for both the base Luxury and the Sport trim in 2021. The two trims have the same gasoline engine, a strong V8 that reaches a top power output of 420 HP. This engine, which has a 6.2L displacement, reaches up to 460 LB-FT of torque, too. You also have the option of selecting a diesel engine for more power. The diesel engine has a maximum power capacity of just under 280 HP. Its peak torque matches that of the gasoline engine, which is 460 LB-FT. The standard drivetrain is rear-wheel drive with both trims, but you can select four-wheel drive for the Luxury and Sport. Whether you get the diesel or gasoline-powered 2021 Cadillac Escalade, you will have a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Appearance
Both the base 2021 Cadillac Escalade and the Sport are eye-catching vehicles. The base trim has some chrome accents to decorate its exterior, while the Sport adds even more. With the base trim level comes 20-inch wheels, which are upgraded to even larger wheels with the Sport. The Sport also has a sport-tuned suspension system to create an even smoother and more relaxing ride. Retractable side steps are included on the Sport trim as well.
Features
An impressive 19-speaker sound system is just the start of what the Luxury trim offers. The Luxury trim gets two separate infotainment screens that include a 16.9-inch display screen and a separate 14.2-inch instrument cluster. Heated seats are standard for the first two rows in the Luxury trim. There are three rows of seats for eight in the Luxury, while you can choose to reduce seating to seven with captain's chairs for the Sport instead. The Luxury has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the Sport adds massaging seats.
