2020 Cadillac Escalade Model Review

The 2020 Cadillac Escalade is split into four trims: Standard, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum. As the base-level trim, the Standard offers comfort and convenience features such as 12-way power adjustability on the front seats, front-seat heating and cooling, second-row heating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a driver-side memory system, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, proximity keyless start, a 12-inch driver information center, remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, wireless charging ability, a 16-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround-sound system with a single-slot CD/MP3 player, HD Radio, tri-zone automatic climate control, a garage-door opener, the OnStar communication system, trial subscriptions to SiriusXM Radio and NavTraffic, and Active Noise Cancellation acoustic technology to block off unwanted noise and dampen vibrations. 

If you upgrade to at least the Luxury trim, Cadillac adds a head-up display to reduce distraction when driving. The Premium Luxury and Platinum trims get a rear-seat entertainment with a Blu-Ray/DVD player for passengers in the second and third rows. 

The 2020 Cadillac Escalade has seven airbags: two frontal impact airbags, which face both driver and front passenger; a driver inboard seat-mounted side-impact airbag; a pair of front seat-mounted side-impact airbags; and a pair of head-curtain airbags for all three rows of seats. Also on board are StabiliTrak for electronic vehicle stability and traction control, hill start assist, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, a surround-vision camera with front and rear parking sensors, Teen Driver mode to monitor driving habits of younger drivers, and a theft-deterrent system.

 

Driver-assistance tech consists of automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic parking assist. Upper-level trims are more likely to receive upgrades such as automatic seat belt-tightening, reverse automatic braking, forward collision alert, lane change alert with side zone alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, a safety alert seat reminder, rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear camera mirror.
