The all-electric 2025 Cadillac ESCALADE IQ is set to make a huge impact. In honor of its debut and to ensure it contributes to a meaningful cause, Cadillac has auctioned off this model's first retail production unit (Vin 001). The proceeds from this historic auction, amounting to $550,000, will go to the Detroit Children's Fund.
Barrett-Jackson Waives Fees and Commissions
On October 12, 2024, the first ESCALADE IQ was auctioned off. Barrett-Jackson waived all commissions and fees associated with the sale so that the Detroit Children's Fund could receive all proceeds.
For those who may not be familiar with the Detroit Children's Fund, it is a non-profit dedicated to providing high-quality education to Detroit's children. GM President Mark Reuss expressed the excitement around this important cause: "The education of its children is paramount to the stability and long-term health of any city, and we're thrilled that the sale of the first ESCALADE IQ will benefit the work the Detroit Children's Fund is doing in our hometown."
The Detroit Children's Fund collaborates with select schools in Detroit and plans to use the funds from the auction to support thousands of students. The non-profit's CEO shared his appreciation for Cadillac's support: "We are grateful to General Motors, Cadillac, and the winning bidder for their support of our mission," said DCF CEO Nick Karmanos. Cadillac frequently supports charitable causes, with a particular focus on improving the lives of children.
The winning bidder also has a lot to celebrate. The new ESCALADE IQ features a 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference sound system, a 55-inch diagonal pillar-to-pillar touchscreen, and a standard Super Cruise. This model is set to be the most advanced and luxurious ESCALADE ever produced, making it a purchase well worth the investment.
