What's New for the 2020 Cadillac XT5?

Cadillac's best-selling vehicle, the XT5 luxury mid-size crossover SUV, underwent a mini design overhaul for the 2020 model year. The XT5's front-end gets a subtle facelift, sporting an all-new redesigned front fascia as well as a bold new front grille design. The base powertrain for the 2020 XT5 model-line has been replaced by a new turbocharged 2.0-liter, fuel-efficient, four-cylinder engine.

Also new for 2020, the XT5 receives the latest version of Cadillac's innovative User Experience infotainment system, optional night vision with pedestrian and animal detection capability, as well as some additional semi-autonomous driver safety aid features. Which Trims & Features are Available in 2020?

• Luxury: The entry-level Luxury trim comes equipped with the standard-issue, turbocharged 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder front-wheel drive engine that can be upgraded to the 3.6-liter V6 powertrain, along with available all-wheel-drive capability. The base XT5 comes packed with plenty of luxury amenities such as 18-inch alloy wheels, smart LED lighting, 8-way driver 6-way passenger power-adjustable heated seating, dual-zone climate control, a sport-tuned suspension, a hands-free power liftgate with programmable height and much more.

The Luxury model includes a wide array of state-of-the-art technology features, including Cadillac's 8-inch touchscreen LCD User Experience infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, an HD rear-view camera, and 4G Wi-Fi capability. The XT5 also comes loaded with an outstanding suite of advanced driver-assist safety tech, most notably automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, and a safety alert driver's seat, just to name a few.

• Sport: The top-of-the-line Sport trim comes standard-equipped with the upgraded 3.6-liter V6 engine and includes sport-controlled all-wheel-drive capability as well sport-tuned suspension with active electronic dampers. The Sport model also comes equipped with 20-inch pearl nickel alloy wheels, gloss black exterior accents, heated outside mirrors with integrated turn indicators, and more.
2020 XT5 Interior

A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency

Checking under the hood, the 2020 XT5 comes standard with an all-new, turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers a respectable 237-horsepower and 258 ft-lb of torque. Available on the Sport trim or as a premium option is the 3.6-liter, V6 powertrain that delivers a potent 310-horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, with a highly reasonable up to 26 MPG HWY fuel economy rating. Both powertrain options are paired with Cadillac's new 9-speed automatic transmission. The Sport edition comes equipped with Cadillac's all-terrain, all-wheel-drive capability, while the Luxury and Premium Luxury trim-levels can add it as an optional upgrade.

Safety Features in the Forefront for 2020

Last year's Cadillac XT5 was awarded the 2019 NHTSA's Five-Star Overall Safety Rating, and this year's model is even better, adding even more sensors and innovative driver-assist safety technologies to further bolster the iconic American luxury automaker's best-selling vehicle's award-winning safety amenities.

The XT5 employs advanced automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, park assist, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, and lane-keep assist with lane departure warning. The XT5 also includes a technologically advanced blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking and Cadillac's innovative safety alert seat that issues tactile warnings on the driver's seat oriented in the direction of potential threats.

The XT5 also comes equipped with an enhanced 7-airbag system, an HD rear-view camera, and Stabilitrak active electronic stability and traction control. Cadillac's all-new infrared night vision capability with pedestrian and animal detection comes available as a premium option.
