Formula 1® Team Unveils Special Edition Livery for Barcelona Shakedown

The racing world is preparing for a monumental arrival as Cadillac's Formula 1 Team gears up for its first appearance. This historic debut is scheduled for March 8th at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. To commemorate this milestone, General Motors President Mark Reuss announced the testing of a unique special-edition livery at the company's new global headquarters in Detroit, MI. This specific livery will be showcased during Shakedown Week in Barcelona, Spain, from January 26-30, followed by an appearance at the Australian Grand Prix in early February.

Cadillac's collaboration with both the Formula 1 Team and the General Motors Design Team has resulted in a striking special livery. This partnership highlights the global influence of the brand's racing division while showcasing the high level of technological and creative expertise found within its F1 vehicles. The announcement took place during the opening celebration of the automaker's new Detroit headquarters, where a replica car featuring the Barcelona Shakedown livery was presented to attendees. For enthusiasts unable to travel to Spain, the vehicle will remain on display at the Detroit Auto Show through January 25.

What is Cadillac Formula 1's Special Livery?

Cadillac clarifies that the Barcelona Shakedown livery is distinct from the team's standard race-season design. Engineered with aerodynamics in mind, this version is intended for pre-season development. Utilizing the Shakedown livery allows the team to analyze and refine aerodynamic components before the official competition begins, potentially securing a performance advantage. Presenting this livery in Spain allows Cadillac to demonstrate its engineering prowess and design heritage on a global stage. While the Shakedown design will be visible in Barcelona, the team is keeping specific technical details under wraps until the event. Preliminary teasers indicate a monochrome aesthetic featuring Cadillac's iconic emblem, color blocking, and precise geometric patterns.
