Cadillac is poised to make a comeback at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Endurance Race this June, fielding four Cadillac V-Series.R racecars.
Cadillac received an invitation to the event from its organizer, Automobile Club de l'Quest. Over the past two years, the manufacturer entered three Hypercars in the race. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of Cadillac's first entry at Circuit de la Sarthe.
The Cadillac Racing team will include drivers with previous overall and class wins at Le Mans, FIA World Endurance Championship, and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship titles. The Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA Sport V-Series.R cars, numbered 12 and 38, will be driven by Jenson Button, Earl Bamber, Sebastien Bourdais, Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens. The Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R, numbered 101, will have Ricky Taylor behind the wheel, while the Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R, with number 311, will be driven by Jack Aitken.
In its inaugural season in the WEC Hypercar competition in 2023, Cadillac Racing's entries finished third and fourth at Le Mans. In 2024, Cadillac Hypercars qualified in the second and third positions and achieved a best finish of seventh. The JOTA Sport team has also stood on the podium in 10 previous Le Mans races, including second and third-place finishes in 2017.
