Cadillac Introduces InnerSpace Autonomous Concept at CES 2022

Cadillac has released some concepts for what the future of their automobiles might look like. They did this through their Cadillac Halo Concept Portfolio, which includes one specific option called the InnerSpace vehicle. This came out at the CES 2022.

Future Concepts

The Halo project has featured concepts for what vehicles with autonomous abilities might look like in the further future. These concepts aren't likely to show up anytime soon, but it's more for what might happen down the road, such as in a decade or even further when autonomous cars are everywhere.

The particular InnerSpace concept involves a vehicle with space for two people that imagine an electric and autonomous vehicle with a luxurious cabin that allows two people to interact with each other away from the world. The whole Halo concept is all about imagining what people could do in a world where they no longer need to pay attention to their surroundings or to navigating the car.

The original one from this series imagined another vehicle called PersonalSpace. This option imagined a vertical takeoff vehicle that could also land that way. It could move above traffic to go to where it's going. The other concept made before the InnerSpace option was the SocialSpace vehicle that could seat 6 people. This would be a much bigger space so that a group of people could all sit in it and interact with one another. It would be a lot like a group was anywhere else, like on a couch, minus the restraints, able to enjoy a space despite moving.

The concept behind all of this from Cadillac is to imagine a future where vehicles are fully autonomous and where there are zero accidents, emissions, or traffic congestion. They are asking the question about what kind of vehicles might be able to exist in that environment. The creators of this concept speak about how autonomous driving might fundamentally change travel. After all, people could instead live in a luxurious space without worrying that they could explore in a way different from what is possible now.
