Specs at a Glance

The 2021 Cadillac XT5 remains an excellent option for anyone in the market for a midsize luxury crossover. Many drivers appreciate the XT5's upscale interior and handsome exterior styling. New standard features make the 2021 model even more rewarding. Let's see how the XT5 Luxury trim compares to the XT5 Sport trim.

A turbocharged four-cylinder engine comes on the Luxury trim, enabling drivers to save extra at the pump. It's rated by Cadillac to develop 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional.

A more robust V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque is included in the Sport trim. Expect to experience a more potent punch when accelerating. Cadillac equips this model with an exclusive Sport Control AWD system and an adaptive performance suspension to take handling to the next stage.

Even the entry-level Luxury trim has an eye-catching appearance. Striking LED headlights, and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels come standard. Expect the Sport trim to have an even bolder look. Cadillac outfits it with a special set of 20-inch wheels and blacked-out exterior accents. Clear taillight lenses further set apart the XT5 Sport.

For 2021, the XT5 Luxury has a more impressive list of standard features. Cadillac equips this SUV's 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the first time. This means drivers no longer need to attach a USB cable when integrating their smartphone. Other standard equipment includes an eight-speaker Bose sound system, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, and heated front seats.

A greater number of premium features are found on the XT5 Sport. Leather upholstery gives the cabin a more upscale feel. Other standard upgrades include an UltraView sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, and a hands-free tailgate. Several options are offered, including an automated parking system and a 14-speaker Bose audio system.
