When it comes to luxury vehicles, the 2019 Cadillac XT5 and the 2019 Lexus RX 350 are recognized for their upscale features and beautiful designs. Both models are considered to be rivals due to their similar size and features but the 2019 Cadillac XT5 clearly comes out ahead. If you're ready to drive a new vehicle, you'll want to compare the features between both vehicles to determine the best fit for your needs. Let’s examine why the XT5 should be your next new vehicle!
Specs at a Glance
Performance Differences
The 2019 Cadillac XT5 offers superior performance with a 3.6-liter V-6 that gets 310 horsepower. Front-wheel drive comes standard in the vehicle to improve traction on the road. Handling is impressive, making the car feel similar to a luxury sports car despite its size.
The 2019 Lexus RX 350 is built with a less impressive 295-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine and comes standard with four-wheel drive. It accelerates quickly, but isn't as fast as the Cadillac XT5. Four different trims are available. The SUV is also built with 3,500 pounds of towing capacity.
Which Vehicle Has More Room?
The 2019 Cadillac XT5 offers a significant amount of room in the cabin and is more spacious than the Lexus RX 350. It's built with natural materials that include wood and leather with carbon fiber accents, making it a rich and sleek setting. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is comfortable to use, along with an UltraView sunroof that passengers in the front and back rows can enjoy for improved visibility. The 40/20/40 folding rear seats also increase the amount of cargo space that is available when you need an extra 63 cubic feet. A hands-free liftgate also offers convenience when getting items in and out of the back of the car.
Inside of the 2019 Lexus RX 350, you'll find five different seats. Unfortunately, legroom is a little tight in the back row, which affects how comfortably tall passengers can ride. The interior is luxurious and regal with premium materials, but the ceiling also feels lower in the RX 350 compared to the XT5, which can feel cramped. A moonroof is also included on the vehicle and features an outer-sliding design.
Safety Differences
Cadillac is generous with the number of safety features that are included in the new XT5 to reduce the risk of a collision and improve driver confidence. The car is built with Lane Keep Assist with lane departure warning, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, front pedestrian braking, and rear cross traffic alert. An innovative rear camera is one of the most notable safety features and allows the mirror to stream HD video of the rear to improve visibility and avoid accidents.
The safety features inside of the 2019 Lexus RX 350 are not as technologically advanced as the new Cadillac XT5 but include brake assist, traction control, daytime running lights, front and rear ventilated disc brakes, and three-point rear center seat belts. On the higher trim models, a panoramic view model is available with four different cameras that are mounted on the front, side, and rear of the car to avoid blind spots that are present.
